As a Wife

Allah most Gracious most Merciful says in the Quran:
[blockquote author=”{Surah ar-Rum, verse 21}”] And of His signs is that He created for you from yourselves partners that you may find tranquility/peace/calm/serenity/stillness in them; and He put between you affection and mercy. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought. [/blockquote]

Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) says:

عن عبدالله بن عمرو بن العاص قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: الدنيا متاع . وخير متاع الدنيا المرأة الصالحة

[blockquote author=”Hadith – Al-Tirmidhi #3095, Transmitted by Ibn Majah”]This world is pleasure/provision and the best pleasure/provision of it is a pious woman.[/blockquote]

The Prophet used to say, “After fear of Allah a believer gains nothing better for himself than a good wife who obeys him if he gives her a command, pleases him if he looks at her, is true to him if he adjures her to do something, and is sincere towards him regarding her person and his property if he is absent.”
Understanding your role in a relationship facilitates fulfilling it. A husband is often agitated, aggravated, full of motion and action. In his wife he finds tranquility, calm and soothing serenity. She is his stabilizing force, his support and his refuge.
A marriage, as with any relationship and more so, requires constant tending and care. It is not something to be taken for granted. There are times when as a wife you need to give unyielding support and build up a fragile-self-esteem period in your husband especially if he is having trouble fulfilling his role as breadwinner. There will be times when the marriage gets stuck in the rut of daily chores and duties and some excitement needs to be carefully planned and carried out to fan the flames of care and interest once more. There will be times when resentments and little hurts must be aired to clear the atmosphere and hearts once more.  There will be times when you feel grateful for the partnership and deep tenderness that Allah bestows upon such a relationship, and other times when, the only recompense for what you are going through is reward from Allah on the Day of Judgment.
A wife is a friend, a companion on the path to pleasing Allah and relentless fan and devotee.
